Audi Q6 and SQ6 Sportback e-tron Elevate Electric Luxury

Driving electric has never been as much fun as what Audi has in store for us. The brand just introduced a new Q6 Sportback e-tron and SQ6 Sportback e-tron.

Many luxury brands are expanding their EV lineups, and that includes Audi. This amazing luxury name continues to add e-tron models to the market to give us more fun and active driving. The Q6 Sportback models are coupe-style electric vehicles that look and feel great on any road. They debuted at the Paris Motor Show and should hit the market next spring or summer as the next step in the Audi EV lineup.

The proven formula

These new Q6 models add more names to the Audi SUV lineup, which hasn’t had the Q6 names in the lineup before. The new EVs follow the proven formula that was put in place by the Q4 and Q8 models. Those Sportback e-trons have rakish windshields at the front to give the SUV a sporty beginning. This rakish windshield flows into a sportier roof that slopes down to the rear to give them the look of more bulbous sport sedans. This is the formula being used for the new Q6 and SQ6 models.

Less drag and a lower stance

Compared to regular Audi SUV versions, these new models have a lower drag coefficient of 0.26. This beats the regular version by 0.02, which doesn’t sound like much, but every little bit helps make these SUVs more efficient and aerodynamic. The impressive drag coefficient enables the Q6 Sportback to have a driving range of up to 408 miles.

In addition to the impressive crossover coupe shape with better aerodynamics, the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron sits up to 1.5 inches lower than the regular model. This means the electric Audi SUV has a much lower center of gravity and can easily drive better on any road or track.

A cabin filled with what you want

The cabin area is pure Audi and is packed with impressive electronics and tech items. The dashboard houses an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment system. This system runs Android Automotive OS, which is the next generation of the system. There’s also an optional augmented reality head-up display to give divers the information they desire. The front passenger isn’t let out of the fun; an optional 10.9-inch front passenger display is also available, giving passengers the screen they want to use during the drive.

ChatGPT in the voice recognition system

The tech features don’t end at the screens. The voice assistant should be able to respond better and more effectively to natural voice inputs thanks to the integration of ChatGPT. This allows the driver to communicate and give the Audi S6 Sportback e-tron natural voice commands.

You’ll also find an optional 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system with headrest-integrated speakers for the front seat occupants.

Audi continues its sustainability efforts

Although these new Audi electric SUVs are sporty, fun, and aggressive, they also bring the focus on sustainability to the mix. When you step inside, you’ll find an array of eco-friendly materials that are made from recycled materials. The roof lining, pillars, and sun visor wear Draft fabric. This fabric is made with 100% recycled polyester, which is another great way to keep more plastics out of landfills.

Somewhat practical

You expect SUVs to be practical, but the sloped roofline of the Sportback models makes them a lot less practical than regular SUVs. The new Q6 models have a 2.2 cubic-foot frunk and an 18 cubic-foot cargo hold that gives you space for your stuff. When the rear seats are folded down, this cargo hold expands to 48.5 cubic feet, giving you a useful size for more gear.

The right Audi platform

Audi is part of the Volkswagen Group And the Premium Platform Electric is being used by several brands, including Audi. The Q6 Sportback e-tron has an 83-kWh battery pack and a rear-mounted motor that produces 288 horsepower. This allows this SUV to deliver up to 339 miles of driving range.

The more powerful model is called performance, and it has a larger 100-kWh battery package that delivers 322 horsepower and up to 408 miles of driving range. The larger battery pack also cuts the sprint time to 6.6 seconds from 7.0 seconds using the smaller battery.

As you would expect, the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron is offered with more power, performance, and driving range to ensure you can have the electric SUV you want to drive. Will the Q6 Sportback e-Tron or high-performance SQ6 Sportback e-tron be the right electric SUV for you?
